U.S. Supreme Court Won’t Hear Libertarian Case over Discriminatory Voter Registration Forms

On January 11, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear Arizona Libertarian Party v Bennett, 15-598.

The lower courts had upheld the Arizona law that says only the names of the two largest parties should be printed on voter registration forms.

Michigan repeals straight-ticket device

The state of Michigan has eliminated the straight-ticket device, as the Governor signed bill SB 13 on January 5. The legislature had passed the bill in December.

Straight-ticket devices allow voters to vote for all of the candidates of one party with a single mark at the top of the ballot.
