RALEIGH (March 4) – The Libertarian Party of North Carolina is partnering with the North Carolina Channel, a new service of UNC-TV, to broadcast the only presidential debate to be held in North Carolina.
The debate will be held online March 7 from 9 to 10:30p.m. EST on Google Hangouts on Air. To watch it live, go to http://bit.ly/libertarian_
UNC-TV will record the event and broadcast it Thursday, March 10 at 8 p.m. It will be carried on Time-Warner Cable 1276 and broadcast over-the-air across the state.

Five of the 11 candidates who’ll appear on the primary ballot have been invited to participate. They were the top five finishers in a straw poll conducted by the LPNC. The participants include Gary Johnson of New Mexico, Austin Petersen of Missouri, Steven Kerbel of Colorado, Darryl W. Perry of New Hampshire, and Jack Robinson of South Carolina.
Carolina Journal Associate Editor Barry Smith will moderate the debate from a location in Raleigh. Candidates will participate from locations across the nation.
North Carolina’s primary is non-binding. The Libertarian presidential and vice presidential candidates will be chosen by delegates to the party’s national convention scheduled for May 27-30, 2016 in Orlando, Florida.
