LP submits 42,000 signatures to get back on the ballot in Oklahoma

ImageThe Libertarian Party delivered petitions with 42,000 signatures to the Oklahoma election board on February 22.

If approved, this would be the first time since 2000 that any non-establishment party appeared on the ballot in the state. 24,745 valid signatures are required to get on the ballot. The election board has 30 days to verify the validity of the signatures.

“I have been overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasms of Oklahomans who do not feel represented by the two parties currently in power and want more choices”, said Oklahoma LP vice-chair Tina Kelly.

To maintain party status, the LP Presidential nominee must get 10% of the vote in the state in the general election.
