LP submits 42,000 signatures to get back on the ballot in Oklahoma

ImageThe Libertarian Party delivered petitions with 42,000 signatures to the Oklahoma election board on February 22.

If approved, this would be the first time since 2000 that any non-establishment party appeared on the ballot in the state. 24,745 valid signatures are required to get on the ballot. The election board has 30 days to verify the validity of the signatures.

Illinois LP wins lawsuit to strike unconstitutional ballot access restriction

Image​On February 12, the Libertarian Party of Illinois won a lawsuit filed in 2012 against a state law requiring that new parties run full slates of candidates.

This prevented parities which may not have a candidate qualified to run for attorney general, for example, from running a candidate for governor or other statewide offices.
