Nevada Libertarians help bring down tax-payer funded stadium

Members of the Nevada LP helped in putting a halt to the building of a $200 million publicly funded soccer stadium.

Major League Soccer has decided to pass on granting an expansion team to Las Vegas, at least until 2018, due to uncertainty regarding the taxpayer-funded stadium, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

The Libertarian Party has the strongest platform of any political party, the most principled candidates of any party, and the most beneficial vision of any party. I think it's time that we had the best logo and branding of any political party.

In a few days, we will begin a logo design contest, using the 99designs platform. Designers from all over the country will compete for both the prize money and the prestige of having created an internationally recognized logo.

Libertarian Party at the Students For Liberty conference this weekend

ImageThe Libertarian Party will be participating at the Students For Liberty conference, being held this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel, 2660 Woodley Rd, Washington, DC 20008.

The LP will have a booth at the event, and Executive Director Wes Benedict, LNC Vice-chair Arvin Vohra, Political Director Carla Howell, and LNC Region 5 Representative Dr. James Lark will be speaking.

Bill to ease ballot access in GA introduced

A bill has been introduced in the Georgia legislature to lower the threshold for non-statewide independent and non-establishment candidates from 5% of the registered voters to 2% of the actual voters in the most recent race.

"“The worst ballot access law in the U.S. is the Georgia law on how an independent or minor party candidate gets on the ballot for U.S. House,” said Richard Winger, editor and publisher of Ballot Access News.
