LP Monday Message: New Year, New Goals

January 3, 2011

Dear Friend of Liberty,

Happy New Year! It's 2011, and that means a new two-year election cycle is underway.

The Libertarian National Committee adopted five goals at a recent meeting. You can help us get started achieving all five of those goals today.

Goal 1. Membership: 20,000 sustaining members by April 15, 2012.

We currently have about 14,400 sustaining members.

Action:

Obama getting a little less statist?

The Executive Vice President of the Cato Institute recently wrote a piece for POLITICO magazine’s debate forum. In his writing, David Boaz asserts that some of Obama’s recent December victories have reflected libertarian values.

LP Monday Message: Republicans jack up government spending

December 13, 2010

Dear Friend of Liberty,

I'm sure you've seen the media reports of how President Obama and the Republicans are making deals for big increases in government spending (while keeping tax rates very high). Ethanol subsidies, more unfunded unemployment spending, etc.

Shall we hire video producer Travis Irvine?

Dear Friend of Liberty,

We have a unique opportunity to reach out to younger prospects and recruit them to the Libertarian Party.

Help us raise $50,000 by making a donation today.

Travis Irvine recently ran for Congress in Ohio, and along with his campaign crew, generated videos that entertained and educated Libertarians and others nationwide.

You have probably seen some of them featured on our LP.org home page.

The City-Council can recommend this change to the Indianapolis Airport Authority, an independent municipal corporation. Read the text of Proposal 337, 2010 by clicking here.

Research paper on libertarian psychology

Several authors have recently written an academic paper on the psychology and morality of libertarians.

Here is a link to co-author Ravi Iyer's blog on the subject. His blog includes a link to the complete paper.
