Ed Thompson, noted Wisconsin Libertarian, passes away
We have received news that Ed Thompson, a noted Wisconsin Libertarian, died of pancreatic cancer today at the age of 66.
Ed Thompson was the 2002 Libertarian Party candidate for Wisconsin Governor, receiving 11% of the vote. He also served as Mayor of Tomah, Wisconsin, and later ran for office as a Republican. Ed's brother, Tommy Thompson, a Republican, was 42nd Governor of Wisconsin and a current candidate for U.S. Senate.

"Ed Thompson passed away early Saturday morning at his home in Tomah. He wanted to thank all of you for this outpouring of support this past year. Details on the visitation and funeral will follow shortly. Visitation will be at Torkelson Funeral Home, 2224 Gasoline Alley, Tomah, Sunday from 2 - 6 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, 10 a.m., St. Mary's Parish, 303 W. Monroe St., Tomah with memorial at the Tee Pee after."
