He sold insurance and was an adjustor at several financial institutions before employment at what became Key Bank for 28 years before he retired in 2001. He has held several positions in the Libertarian Party of Ohio and is currently a member of the State Central Committee and Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Cuyahoga County. After over thirty years as a registered Republican, Michael was inspired by the choice of Gary Johnson for the Libertarian Presidential nomination and changed his official party affiliation to Libertarian earlier this month to “more fully support the campaign.” In 1986 he was elected to the Hauppauge School. In 1987 he was elected President of the School Board. He served as President through 1989 and reduced taxes every year as President. He obtained his Real Estate Broker’s License on September 10, 2001. He has also been endorsed by Queens (New York) Libertarian Party.
Matthew writes, “I was born in Wisconsin, raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana and attended college in Evansville. I have been a resident of Colorado since 1998, currently reside in Littleton and work for a small business that makes software for construction companies. My career as a technologist has taken me across the spectrum of computer technology as a system administrator, programmer and network engineer. This experience uniquely positions me to be knowledgeable in regard to votes on national technology issues and bills such as SOPA, PIPA and other threats to technology and the people’s privacy and rights. I received the Presidential Volunteer Service award in 2011 for my work with local Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops in Aurora. As a former longtime Republican I have become disenfranchised with the two party system and have entered the race as a Libertarian because it more accurately reflects my belief in small cost-effective government and the unalienable rights of citizens.”
The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971. Our vision is for a world in which all individuals can freely exercise the natural right of sole dominion over their own lives, liberty and property by building a political party that elects Libertarians to public office, and moving public policy in a libertarian direction.
