GOP Officeholder Endorses Libertarian Candidate Sundwall

ALBANY, NY -- Albany attorney Warren Redlich endorsed Libertarian special election congressional candidate Eric Sundwall, although he is a Republican officeholder (Town of Guilderland board) and was a GOP congressional candidate in the adjoining 21st congressional district. The special election to replace Kirsten Gillibrand will be held March 31st. Campaign manager Richard Cooper announced the endorsement.

John Monds to seek Libertarian Nomination For Ga. Governor

Sub-Title: 

Earned 1 million votes in 2008 Public Service Commission race

ATLANTA -- John Monds will be announcing his intention to seek the Libertarian Party of Georgia’s nomination for Governor with a press conference at the Capitol in Atlanta with family, close friends and supporters by his side Wednesday, March 25th at 4:00pm.
 
During his campaign for Public Service Commission (District 1) in 2008, Monds became the first Libertarian to break one million votes in the United States.

Watch Libertarian Eric Sundwall in the WMHT televised candidate forum

Libertarian Eric Sundwall and Democrat Scott Murphy, running in the special election for New York's 20th congressional district seat, met Thursday, March 19 in a candidate forum televised live by WMHT.  Republican Jim Tesdisco refused to participate.

The forum was moderated by Susan Arbetter, host of WMHT's award-winning public affairs program, New York Now, and Times Union State Editor Casey Seiler.

Missouri legislators honor Libertarian

Sundwall On Stimulus Scheme "No, With Amendments"

NIVERVILLE, NY -- Libertarian congressional candidate Eric Sundwall said today that if he had been in Congress he would have voted against Obama's economic stimulus plan but would have introduced amendments to make a bad bill somewhat better. "My position on the Obama plan is no with amendments. The notion of economic stimulus is misguided and false. The government's inflation of the monetary supply causes the boom and bust cycle. Unlike Tedisco who could not be bothered to take a stand for weeks then said yes with amendments and now no, I have always opposed the stimulus scheme.

Libertarian Sundwall Faces Rivals In Times-Union/WMHT Debate

NIVERVILLE, NY -- Libertarian special election congressional candidate Eric Sundwall will be included in the debate sponsored by the Albany Times-Union www.timesunion.com and WMHT on Thursday, March 19th at 7:30pm, according to campaign manager Richard Cooper. As of now, Republican candidate James Tedisco will not participate. This Friday, Sundwall will appear on WMHT's "New York Now" program. WASHINGTON – America’s third largest party asked Wednesday why President Obama enacted the $490 billion FY09 omnibus spending and its over 8,500 earmarks behind closed doors, and despite campaign promises to end earmark abuse.

“President Obama’s decision to hide from the media while signing this bill isn’t just a violation of his promise of transparency, it’s an attempt to avoid questions about breaking another promise to end earmark abuse,” said Libertarian National Committee Communications Director Donny Ferguson.

Libertarian poll: What is Obama trying to distract us from?

WASHINGTON – America’s third largest party is asking Americans to vote on what they think the White House’s ongoing war with conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh is intended to distract attention from, Libertarian National Committee (LNC) Communications Director Donny Ferguson announced Wednesday. 

The LNC has posted a poll at www.lp.org asking Americans to cast their vote for one of five harmful Obama policies the White House hopes their spat with Limbaugh will distract attention from.

Libertarians urge Obama to veto pork-ridden spending bill

Libertarians stand with taxpayers against earmark abuse

WASHINGTON – America’s third largest party urged President Barack Obama Tuesday to live up to his promise to “end politics as usual in Washington” and veto a  $410 billion spending bill.  The legislation includes 8,570 earmarks totaling $7.7 billion, a practice Obama pledged to end as part of his pitch to voters during the 2008 election.
