About the Candidate
Jim Frye is a long time resident of Colorado, Aurora, and
Hoffman Heights, and has lived at his current address for the past 18 years.
Having grown up in Iowa, he was fortunate to have been assigned to Buckley AFB
when he entered the military. Jim is an Air Force Veteran who was stationed at
Buckley for several years. During this time he discovered an appreciation of
Colorado and the City of Aurora. Jim has taken advantage of the opportunities
that our state environment provides, such as hiking, biking and skiing.
Currently retired, Frye spent over 15 years as a
telecommunication IT project manager, and he brings his managerial and
organizational abilities to the campaign, and ultimately to representing Aurora
residents in House District 42.
Frye attended the Community College of Denver and
Metropolitan State College where he majored in Meteorology. During his time in
the military, he was always fascinated by Colorado weather and the effect it
had on flight operations.
Jim is a long time political activist, who vigorously works
to keep himself and his neighborhood informed. What he hopes to bring to this
campaign is an ability to address the many issues that are of concern to voters
in HD 42. Jim is a member of several advocacy organizations.
As a member of the Colorado Union of Taxpayers, Jim has
signed the CUT pledge and will work to achieve a 100% rating from this
organization. That includes:
- To oppose any new net tax increase
- To limit government spending
- To support surplus tax refunds to Colorado citizens
- To prioritize state spending
- Respecting the spirit of TABOR
- To support education alternatives for our children
- To support more privatization where it is appropriate
- To support individual property rights
- To oppose payroll deductions for political purposes
- To support the citizens right to petition
Jim knows the difference between a right and a privilege.
While considering any legislation that affects individuals in district 42, he
will always keep this in mind. As a father and grandfather, and with his family
living here in Colorado, he hopes to affect the direction in which our state
legislature influences all our lives. Jim plans to make a difference in the
coming years.
If elected, Frye will focus on respecting you as a taxpayer.
