About the Candidate
Hi, I’m Brendan Kelly current chair of the Libertarian Party of New
Hampshire and I’m on a mission. Eight years ago we moved to NH from
Massachusetts and I decided I had to get active in the LP to see why we
weren’t having the success I’d always envisioned. I found my first few
years of activism disappointing at best. In 2006 I became aware of an
effort to reform the LP and I attended my first national convention in
Portland Oregon. I was reinvigorated by the passion for change and next
thing I knew I was running for selectman in my home town of Seabrook NH
and was elected chair of LPNH. I lost my first attempt at selectman but
in 2007 the people elected me to a three year term.
These
are exciting times in NH and the LPNH is once again expanding. Although
I was elected selectman in a non partisan race I believe there is a
very good chance I could be elected to the NH House of Representatives
as a libertarian. The people of Seabrook elected me knowing I’m
libertarian and I believe they will elect me to represent them in the
house as well. Getting a libertarian elected to the house would provide
leadership for those who have been elected as republicans and
democrats. We plan to run libertarian candidates for all the major
offices and as many districts as possible for representative.
When
I ran for selectman I did it all on my own, so I’d have no supporters
who had the impression I owed them anything. Being as my run for state
representative will be as a libertarian and the run will be more
expensive I’ve decided to request and accept contributions from those
who would like to see advancement of the fight for freedom and the LP.
