About the Candidate

I believe that the United States is headed in the wrong direction in many ways.  I believe that I can help the people of Georgia and the United States get on the right track.

As an attorney/CPA specializing in employee benefits and tax law, I am very knowledgeable about taxes, finances and the problems underlying our economic system, including Social Security and Medicare. The problems are incredibly enormous. In 2007, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported: "GAO's current long term simulations continue to show ever-larger deficits resulting in a federal debt burden that ultimately spirals out of control." Like any financial problem, the sooner action is taken, the better.

I am a big believer in protecting the environment in a practical manner. Boiling what my campaign is about down to one sentence: "I wish to live for today and tomorrow, instead of living for today to the detriment of tomorrow."

I believe that the federal government’s role in individuals’ lives should generally be diminished. Such a change would result in tax savings to Americans, under the balanced budget proposal I advocate.

I believe that strong national defense and intelligence services are a must. But, I absolutely believe that the United States needs to reduce its involvement in foreign affairs, and that we need to shut down most of our foreign military bases. I believe in maximizing individual liberty and I think that a proper balance must be struck between the need to perform intelligence activities and the need to preserve individual liberties.
