About the Candidate

I am the National Business Development Manager for the Diamond Tooling Division of Husqvarna Construction Products North America.  Husqvarna is an international leader in diamond tooling for the granite and marble industry.  Husqvarna is a $13 billion corporation with a manufacturing presence in over 20 countries.

In addition to my responsibilities as the National Business Development Manager, I am also tasked with two additional divisions within the company.  The first being the new van based sales division.  This is a division in which I envisioned and implemented a strategy for increasing business.  The goal is to expand our domestic sales by introducing our products directly to local markets.  The other division I am also responsible for is the CNC tooling division for the company.  I interact with our international suppliers to coordinate product manufacturing and distribution as well as with our domestic customers to determine their technical tooling needs.  I was invited to present as a national market expert at the corporate international sales meeting in Malta.  With over 8 years of experience in the stone industry and over a decade in sales I have the ability to overcome the communication challenges inherent for your representative Congressman.

I have served on the boards of the West Michigan Association of Information Technology Professionals, the EFE Computer Technology Advisory Committee.  I have also served as a judge for the West Michigan Community Website Competition.  I have been involved with the Libertarian Party of West Michigan for over five years and have participated in the monthly television party broadcasts over the public broadcasting/access media.

I proudly served as a Marine Corps Machine Gunner and I currently have a stepson enlisted as a rifleman in the Marine Corps who has already toured overseas. With this experience I am uniquely qualified to understand the complex issues at hand regarding our current military actions and where these actions stand with regards to Constitutional guidelines, principles, and restrictions.  While in the Marine Corps, I was selected as guide (leader) of over 80 Marine Recruits while stationed on Parris Island, South Carolina, 3rd Battalion.  Additionally, I was one of two Marines nominated for Yankee White (Presidential Honor Guard) on the entire Island.  This honor is rare as one must be selected by the Drill Instructors of the entire Island.  During my service, I earned Marine of the month honors and competed for Marine of the year (one of four Marines out of over 500 at that duty station).  Furthermore, I was acting NCOIC (non-commissioned officer in charge) of what was at the time rated the most secure military base in the world.  Additionally, I had the honor of earning two meritorious promotions, the first as LCpl. (E3) and the second as Cpl. (E4).  After completing my four years of enlistment, I received an Honorable Discharge having served as a squad leader Sgt. E5.

I attended the University of Alabama and was a midfielder for the Crimson Tide lacrosse team.  While at the University of Alabama I worked towards my degree in Business Management prior to my service in the Marine Corps.

As with many successful men…next to him stands a strong, loving wife and wonderful family and support system.  My wife Juana Ann and I have been together almost 18 wonderful years.  I have actively reared my three stepchildren (ages 25, 22 and 21) and we have a fourteen year old daughter together.  Having a stepchild with multiple and severe special needs has helped prepare us as a family and me as an individual to face the unexpected challenges in life head on and with a positive attitude.

It is this attitude, experience, integrity and determination that I will bring to my constituents of District 2 in the state of Michigan.  My focus will be to operate consistently as a bastion of limited government, solid fiscal accountability and with decisions guided by the United States Constitution and aligned with Libertarian Party principles.  I am a supporter of YOUR individual liberties and will voice that support in Washington D.C.
