Bruce Majors
US House, District of Columbia
Election Date: June 20, 2012
Location
About the Candidate:
Bruce Majors runs on a platform that includes things such as DC statehood, marriage equality, smaller government, term limits, ending the drug war, and increased civil liberties. He believes that DC deserves statehood and that, in the meanwhile, its residents should not pay income tax since they receive no representation in Congress. He also believes that the size of the federal government has grown too large -- this includes its reach over the internal affairs of the District. Bruce also believes in term limits, limiting the amount of elected terms an official may serve. Civil liberties are extremely important to Bruce; Bruce is active in the LGBT community and supports both marriage equality and ending DOMA.
