LAVA invites you to attend a State Convention on April 21, 2013! This is a special convention called for the purpose of considering whether to formally endorse a Libertarian candidate for Governor. The convention will be held in Waynesboro, Virginia, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., in the Waynesboro City Council Meeting Room.

Rob Sarvis has declared his interest in our endorsement; however, he must first be accepted by YOU. The state committee cannot make this choice; it is up to the members.

Those attending the convention must register at the meeting so that we can provide your name tag and assign your voting credentials.

VOTING ELIGIBILITY: According to Article V, Section 2 of the LPVA Constitution: "Only those persons who are currently members of the Libertarian Party of Virginia, and who have been members of the Party for at least thirty days within the previous twelve months, shall be granted the right to vote at conventions." Note that if you are a current, dues-paid member of the Libertarian Party, there is NO CHARGE to attend this meeting.

Non-members may attend with a registration fee of $5.00; and the members must approve to extend non-members the privilege to observe.

Schedule of Events

12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. -- State Central Committee meeting, also in Council Meeting Room - LPVA Members always welcome!

2:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. -- Convention Registration

2:15 p.m. - 2:20 p.m. -- Welcoming remarks

2:20 p.m. - 2:55 p.m. -- Business session opens
- Approve named observers (nonmembers, media, etc)

- Other business may be added to the Agenda by a
2/3 majority vote of the members attending the

1. AUTHORITY: This call to convention is authorized by Article V,
SECTION 4 of the LPVA Constitution.

2. SCC CANNOT ENDORSE. The LPVA state committee has NOT taken any
position on the candidate. The process is still wide open, and there
are *no* roadblocks in place against anyone else who wishes to seek our

3. "NONE OF THE ABOVE" or "NOTA" is always a valid and recognized
choice in all internal Libertarian Party elections.

4. If *anyone* else wishes to seek our endorsement for Governor, Lt.
Governor or Attorney General, we will publicize them in advance of this
convention on an equal basis.

5. LAST CHANCE -- There is not enough time to call another endorsement
meeting for candidates after 4/21. If you wish to run with the
Libertarian Party endorsement for one of the Virginia statewide races in
2013, this convention is your *last* chance to declare.
