Five Libertarian candidates found common ground on the immigration
issue -- but disagreement on other issues -- when they addressed the state's
Mexican-American Political Association recently.
Libertarians and other parties were invited to make their case before
the group's nominating convention on April 6.
"The biggest applause was for the statist Democratic candidates,
especially the Spanish surnamed ones," said Kit Maira, LP candidate for State
Assembly. "Libertarian Juan Ros got a warm reception -- until he turned
to the failure of Social Security. Then several audience members started
yelling 'Time'!"
The three other LP candidates attending were Bruce McKenzie, Erich
Miller, and Bruce Acker.
