Fabulously successful national convention

Dear Libertarian,

Last week we concluded our 2018 Libertarian National Convention in New Orleans, LA. It was a great success.

Preliminary figures indicate this year’s convention may have surpassed the 2016 presidential nominating convention in both attendance and fundraising! This is impressive for any convention in any year, but especially for one held during a non-presidential election year. I see this is a solid indicator of major growth!

Delegates elected a new slate of party officers, including re-electing Nicholas Sarwark to an unprecedented third consecutive term as chair of the Libertarian National Committee (LNC).

LNC representatives were elected. You can find information on the new LNC here.

Many thanks to the members of the Convention Oversight Committee, who worked for months, even years, to plan this event: Daniel Hayes (chair), Erin Adams, Whitney Bilyeu, Sam Goldstein, Alicia Mattson, Drew Layda, and Ken Moellman.

And many thanks to the sponsors of this event, especially the Welcoming Committee:

Michael Dodd | The Gaztañagas

Roads to Freedom Foundation

Nivine K. Zakhari | Joseph Thompson

John Shuey | Gregory Hertzsch

Judge Jim Gray | Daniel Hayes, LNC At Large

Dr. Aaron Sigler | Ending Addiction Movie

Lloyd Princeton, 1st Congressional District of New Mexico

Lastly, and most importantly, thanks to the many Libertarians who came from all over the country and served as delegates, alternates, attendees, and activists, and made this event the blockbuster success that it was.

The 2020 Libertarian National Convention will be in Austin, TX. I hope to see you there!
