Lucas Overby, the Florida Libertarian Party candidate for the U.S. House 13th congressional district in next week’s general election, has been endorsed by the former independent challenger, Eduardo Jany.
Jany had to withdraw from the race for personal reasons back in May, leaving a two-way race with Overby and Republican David Jolly. Jany was running as an independent because he had been registered as a Republican, and had not changed his registration in time to appear on the ballot as a Democrat. But Jany did have the backing of the Democratic Party.
Jolly was elected to the seat in a special election earlier this year.
“I’m both honored and humbled to accept Eduardo Jany’s endorsement,” Overby said. “It stands as proof that we share the same vision; reaching across party lines in support of the working families of our district. Serving our constituents will remain my highest priority, and I look forward to working with those who share this goal.”
