Iowa Libertarian Don Brantz has been nominated by the Iowa Libertarian Party to run for the state Senate 12th district in a special election to be held on December 30.

The election was called by the Governor, Terry Branstad, to fill the vacancy created by previous office-holder, Joni Ernst, who was elected to the US Senate last month.

“This is a rare opportunity for the Libertarian Party of Iowa as we have a well known local activist and former elected official running for office as a Libertarian in a race that the turnout will be very low”, said Brantz campaign manager Jake Porter.

“Organization and advertising are key which is why we have started advertising in local newspapers across the district.”
