LP Monday Message: Separation of Church and Signs

October 19, 2009

Dear Friend of Liberty,

First, I wanted to send a big thank you to the new Monthly Pledgers who signed up for recurring monthly donations online. We added this very convenient feature about a week ago and sent an announcement last Friday. So far, over 20 people have signed up for recurring monthly contributions on our membership and contribution forms.

We have also conducted online polls on the following topics recently:
1. Troop levels in Afghanistan.
2. Reagan, Obama, and non-interventionism.
3. Which example makes Republicans look most hypocritical?
You can view a list of our past polls and see the responses to those polls by clicking on each one here.

Regarding the "Separation of Church and Signs":

In addition to serving as an at-large member of the Libertarian National Committee and as chair of the Libertarian Party of Texas, Pat Dixon is one of our elected Libertarians. As a city council member in Lago Vista, Texas, Mr. Dixon gets to implement Libertarian principles. He reported on an issue that came before his council regarding religious advertising on a sign paid for with taxes. He also used that issue to address the topic of whether Libertarians take votes from Republicans or Democrats. You can read his article about it here.

I hope you’ll show your support by donating to the Libertarian Party today.

Sincerely,

Wes Benedict
Executive Director
Libertarian National Committee
