AUSTIN, TEXAS - Within hours of Rep. Ron Paul's announcement that he will not seek re-election to Congress to focus on his bid for the Republican nomination for President, three Libertarians announced their intent to seek the Libertarian Party of Texas nomination for the seat.
LOGAN, Utah—Over the past decade or so, China’s policy of export-led growth has triggered double-digit economic gains, leading some commentators to predict that the Chinese economy—already second-largest in the world—would soon eclipse our own.
Meanwhile, beginning with the popping of the real estate bubble five years ago, the United States slid into recession. Although the National Bureau of Economic Research found that the slump ended in June 2009, the recovery has remained weak, with unemployment still hovering around 10 percent.

Libertarians: Casey Anthony gets off easy, just like Congress
WASHINGTON - Libertarian Party Chair Mark Hinkle released the following statement today:
"A lot of people feel like Casey Anthony got off easy. I feel the same way about our members of Congress.
"These folks violate their solemn oath to uphold the Constitution on a daily basis. Most of them deserve to be kicked out of office for life -- but instead, they get praised by the media, by the special interests they cater to, and others. And of course, they get to enjoy cushy government jobs.
I hope you're having a nice holiday, and I hope you'll have a moment today to stop and remember the significance of Independence Day.
Living in Washington, DC gives me the opportunity to see some of our nation's historical landmarks quite often. This weekend I visited the Arlington National Cemetery which includes the Tomb of the Unknowns. This evening I'm planning to watch the fireworks display at the Washington Monument.
