Tax Message to Politicians and Pundits: “It’s the High Government Spending, Stupid!”

High government spending is the cause. High taxes are the effects.

Cutting government spending is the only way to make taxes lower.

We must dramatically reduce government spending to dramatically reduce taxes.

Borrowing from President Clinton campaign adviser James Carville and his famous saying, “I’ts the economy, stupid,” Libertarians say, “It’s high government spending, stupid!”

Politicians and pundits: If you’re not talking huge government spending cuts, you’re not sincerely or seriously talking tax cuts.

High taxes are the painful symptoms. High government spending – Big Government – is
the underlying disease.

Stop offering us temporary tax pain relief — that merely dulls the pain…while the disease spreads.

The only way to get rid of the symptoms AND the disease – is to reduce, then remove the disease: Big Government, with its high government spending. Do this and we quickly get permanent, real relief from high taxes and their pain.

This tax season, let’s talk about the REAL tax problem: high government spending.

How much government spending?

$6.2 trillion (that’s a “t” for trillion) in total government spending: federal plus local plus state government spending combined for 2012.

“I have a simple proposal for politicians and political pundits,” said Geoffrey J. Neale, Chair of the Libertarian National Committee. “Make huge, dramatic cuts in total government spending now. Immediately. This year. Right away. And keep doing it until we get government spending down to a level taxpayers can thrive in, not merely survive.”
