Building the Libertarian Party

Dear Libertarian,

I hope you saw the good news over the weekend. Land commissioner Aubrey Dunn, one of the top elected officials in New Mexico, announced that he has switched from the Republican Party to the Libertarian Party.

I can tell you from personal conversations with elected officials at all levels, including on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, that there are quite a few elected officials who are yearning to switch parties… to come out of the closet as Libertarians.

It takes courage for them to do so. Getting re-elected later as a Libertarian is a whole different ballgame, and much harder in most cases, than getting elected as an R or D.

Improving our party infrastructure, breaking down barriers to ballot access, running more candidates and helping those candidates to be as competitive as possible are all critical to making the LP more competitive.

Accomplishing these goals will help liberty-minded elected officials jump ship from the other parties and find their true home with us.

When you donate to the Libertarian Party, you are helping to make all of this important work possible.

Let’s make 2018 an epic year for Libertarians nationwide. Please donate today.
