Libertarians Working for You
Feb. 19, 2014
On the latest episode of “Libertarians Working for You,” Libertarians Arvin Vohra for Congress in Maryland’s 4th District and Tresa McAlhaney for governor in Kansas will talk about why we must immediately end the failed War on Drugs and the failed prohibition of marijuana.
Both alcohol prohibition and drug prohibition led to the worst crime sprees in American history. They encourage dangerous use of drugs and alcohol while taking away the rights of those who use substances responsibly and for medicinal or industrial purposes.
A majority of Americans now support legalizing both medicinal and recreational marijuana — positions that the Libertarian Party has been advocating since its inception in 1971. Yet many Democratic and Republican politicians continue to cling to their failed drug policies.
Libertarian candidates Arvin Vohra and Tresa McAlhaney will make the case for immediately ending today’s deadly drug prohibition, show how doing so will make things better for America, and spell out the specific actions they will take if elected.
