Palin not the first female V.P.
In the discussion about Sen. John McCain's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, it should be noted that the Libertarian Party vice-presidential nominee Tonie Nathan was the first woman ever to receive an electoral vote. In 1972, Roger MacBride, a Republican elector from Virginia, cast his electoral vote for the Hospers/Nathan ticket.
