Libertarians to elect new chairman at national convention

WASHINGTON – The Libertarian Party (LP) will elect a new chairman at the Libertarian National Convention in St. Louis this weekend, from Saturday, May 29, through Monday, May 31.

The convention will take place at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis. The press is welcome to attend.

There are currently five candidates in the race to replace outgoing chairman William Redpath.

Convention delegates will also amend the party’s platform and bylaws, and will elect other members to the Libertarian National Committee .

The convention has been titled “Gateway to Liberty.”

Currently, there are 716 Libertarian candidates around the country for the November 2 elections. A list of candidates may be viewed here.
